NEO 1:43 scale resin model car
A beautiful and highly-detailed model of a 1929 Bentley 4 1/2 Litre - specifically, Sir Henry Birkin's Bentley 'Blower'.
The Bentley 'Blower' was a supercharged version of Bentley's 1927 four-and-a-half litre car. Sir Henry's model - the 'Birkin' Blower - was made of steel, aluminium and wood, and was a single-seater car, later converted to a two-seater roadster, but then changed back. The supercharger was built by Amherst Villiers and added to the Blower by Sir Henry Birkin two years later. To race at Le Mans, at least 50 cars had to be made and only 55 Blowers were ever produced. Chief engineer WO Bentley was vehemently opposed to the idea and blamed it, in part, for the collapse of his company and its subsequent sale to Rolls-Royce. Despite this, he once described Sir Henry as "the greatest Briton of his time".
